Eric M. Strauss: Saltaire Weather Station
I set up an online weather station at my family's beach house. "Strauss House 2" is just steps from the Atlantic Ocean on the Fire Island National Seashore in the Village of Saltaire, Long Island, NY. The weather station sits at the end of the porch (see above) and is powered by solar energy. The data is transmitted wirelessly to a Davis Weather Vantage Pro 2 console which is connected to a PC running Davis Weather Link Software that uploads the latest readings online using Verizon DSL.
